A new collection of foraminifers and ammonoids is studied from the stratotype section of the Beleutian Regional Substage of Central Kazakhstan, Ulytau Region. The section on the Beleuty River (Kalmakkyrgan) is a historical stratotype with a marker bed containing ammonoids of the Uralopronorites–Cravenoceras Genozone. The study of foraminifers and ammonoids from this section showed that the beds underlying the marker horizon contain Serpukhovian foraminifers, including Monotaxinoides cf. subplanus and Neoarchaediscus cf. postrugosus. The ammonoid assemblage from the marker horizon most likely indicates the upper part of the Uralopronorites–Cravenoceras Genozone. The precise position of fossil occurrences in the section and the sequence of appearance of marker species of foraminifers and ammonoids have been established. The correlation of the base of the Beleutian Regional Substage with the international chronostratigraphic chart and with regional scales of adjacent regions is substantiated.
