Geologicheskii Vestnik

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of geological tourism as a promising direction for the development of the Orenburg Region. The resource base of the region is examined, including stratotypic sections, paleontological localities, karst caves, mineral occurrences, and geomorphological landmarks. Special attention is paid to the educational potential of geological sites for higher and secondary schools. Recommendations are given for organizing geological excursions adapted to the region’s conditions, based on the author’s own experience in implementing the science-education project #ГеологиядляВсех.

Relevance of the study is determined by several factors:

1. Insufficient knowledge of the tourism potential of many geological sites in the Orenburg region;
2. The need to preserve unique geological monuments that are being destroyed under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors;
3. The demand for developing educational programs and routes for geology, geography, ecology students, and schoolchildren;
4. The possibility of using geotourism as a factor in the sustainable development of the region's rural areas.
