Summary:

The chemical composition and temperature of formation of chlorite from near-ore metasomatites of the Bolshoy Karan gold-porphyry deposit located in the zone of the Main Ural Fault in the Southern Urals were studied. The composition of chlorite was studied using the VEGA II LSH scanning electron microscope (Tescan) at the IG KarRC RAS. There are three types of chlorite: pycnochlorite, ripidolite and diabantite. It is shown that the formation of chlorite occurred in mesothermal conditions in the temperature range of 346–185°С.
