Summary:

The detailed scheme of subdivision of the Asselian and Sakmarian stages of the Kushtau section is considered, based on the replacement of local communities of fusulinids included in the zonal complexes of the generally accepted fusulinid zones of the Asselian and Sakmarian stages of the Regional stratigraphic scheme of the Lower Permian deposits of the Urals. Within the generally accepted fusulinid zones, eight successively replacing local fusulinid communities are distinguished, confined to different lithofacies types of limestones. The established replacement of fusulinid communities is maintained throughout the area of the shikhan both in the central part and on the eastern slope.
