Summary:

During a study of natural outcrops of the Chernyi Kamen Formation near the Shyrokovsky reservoir in Perm Krai Region, a new fossil locality of Ediacara-type soft-bodied biota was discovered in the lower reaches of the Prikasherka River. The fossils are confined to the lower part of the Chernyi Kamen Formation (Vilukha Member) and include representatives of frondomorph organisms with varying degrees of preservation of their holdfast structures, as well as multi-chambered chain-like organisms of the group Palaeopascichnida. The discovery of a new locality of Ediacara-type soft-bodied organisms in the Shyrokovsky reservoir once again demonstrates the high palaeontological potential of this area, which could potentially become Russia's first (Ediacaran) Geopark.
