Summary:

The paper describes microinclusions of idiomorphic authigenic quartz crystals of dipyramidal shape and pseudohexagonal habit in the carbonate deposits of the Domanik horizon (Frasnian Stage) of the East Orenburg Arch Uplift. The host rock is represented by a microcrystalline organogenic limestone with fragments of amphipores, stromatoporoids, ostracods, and crinoids, which is atypical for Domanik deposits. Based on a set of features - euhedralism of the crystals, their zonal internal structure, and the presence of carbonate microinclusions - the quartz crystals are classified as skeletal forms formed as a result of rapid growth under conditions of sharp temperature fluctuations and solution supersaturation. It is suggested that their formation took place at the postsedimentary stage due to the percolation of pore fluids or low-temperature hydrothermal solutions through the carbonate sequence buried to a depth of more than 2 km.
