Аннотация:

Обсуждается ряд аспектов использования данных о U-Pb изотопных возрастах популяций обломочного циркона для расшифровки состава и пространственного положения источников кластики. Показано, что при анализе и интерпретации таких данных важно помнить, что химический состав и изотопные характеристики обломочного циркона могут быть использованы для идентификации источников кластики и картирования путей транспортировки ее в конечные водоемы стока только в случаях, когда обломочный материал сформирован непосредственно за счет эрозии кристаллических (магматических и метаморфических) пород / протоисточников. Рециклинг более древних осадочных толщ, являющийся источником значительной части обломочного материала, слагающего пески и песчаники, ведет к потере связей между материнской породой и конечным осадком. Таким же образом действуют разнообразные ловушки кластики в системах ее транспортировки и ряд других процессов стадии седиментогенеза.
