The data on the algal assemblage of the Lower Permian (Cisuralian) deposits of the Kushtau Shikhan is considered for the first time. The algae were studied in thin sections made from core of borehole drilled in the saddle of the Kushtau Shikhan. The drilled interval included Asselian-Sakmarian deposits. In the Lower Permian deposits of the Bashkirian (Sterlitamak) shikhans, tubiphytes are the most numerous, conditionally attributed to the family of blue-green algae Girvanellaceae. Tubiphytes are also known on the Shakhtau, Toratau and Yuraktau shikhans, where they are rock-forming. The calcareous siphon algae studied from the material of borehole 30 Kushtau include species of the green algae families: Dasycladaceae (Kützing, 1843) Stizenberger, 1860, Cyclocrinaceae Maslov, 1956, Anchicodiaceae Shuysky in Chuvashov et al., 1987. Among dominating green algae the representatives of the genus Pseudoepimastopora, Atractyliopsis, Globuliferoporella, Neoanchicodium are numerous. A total number of species (21), previously known from the Shakhtau Shikhan, have been identified in the borehole 30 in Kushtau.
